Stores that never sell the same thing twice

There is a store in my mall — glass front, no sign I can ever hold in memory — that has been a bookstore, a store that sold only lamps, something like a pharmacy, and once, memorably, a store whose shelves held carefully priced objects from my own childhood.

Same location every time. Same footprint, same doorway, same clerk-shaped absence behind the counter. Only the inventory changes, as if the shelves are dealt fresh from a deck each night.
