I was with two people new to mallworld, one British and one American, and I was offering advice "just try to fit in, don't act like a tourist" and I went to walk up an escalator (upward) but someone was coming down it the wrong way, business suit, fedora, on mobile discussing stocks. Following my own advice I moved over to the other escalator (coming down) and walked up it only to find a semicircle landing at the top that looped back to the other escalator.
