Which way do you go — up or down?

A simple survey for the stairwell dreamers, because I think the split says something.

When the dream puts you on the stairs, which way do you go? Down, where the reports say the air gets warmer and the banisters change material every few flights — wood, then metal, then something smooth nobody has named? Or up, where the light thins out and the steps get quieter, as if the building is holding its breath?

I am a descender, for the record. The bottom feels like a place, and I want to stand in it once. Tell me your direction and what it is like where you are headed — and whether you have ever been able to choose, or whether the stairs decide.
